Madikeri: Medical Education Minister Dr K Sudhakar said a new guideline for controlling the spread of coronavirus infection has been suggested by tourists visiting Kodagu district.

The minister spoke to reporters after a meeting of high-level officials on Kovid management at Madikeri’s district panchayat hall.

“The tourists come to the district in the wake of the Dussehra. The Kovidi test should be made mandatory for all tourists.

Even though the Union Ministry of Education has issued guidelines on the reopening of schools, the state government is not contemplating opening the school as Kovid-19 is out of control in the state, ”Sudhakar said.

‘There is a state in the interim period of Corona. The number of cases has been increasing for two months. Experts have been consulted on starting the school and warned that this is not the right time to start school. Therefore, the situation will be reviewed for another three weeks. “The decision to start a school will be taken into consideration of the situation of the neighboring states,” he said.
