People all around the globe have been reliant on non-conventional energy sources for centuries now, not realizing their harmful impact on the Earth. As a result, the present generations are left battling climate change, pollution, global warming, and environmental degradation.

The Present Landscape of Renewable Energy in India
Energy independence with a complete shift to renewable energy has been at the forefront of the aims & objectives of the Indian government for over a decade. Furthermore, 9.5 percent of the country’s total energy production was attributed to solar and wind power in 2019. Also, if the government succeeds in achieving its target of 175GW by 2022, this figure is expected to increase by another 15 to 16 percent. [1]Â
However, out of all clean energy sources, the focus has been on solar power, especially since the launch of the Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission (JNNSM) in 2010. At present, the goal is to install 100 grid-connected solar power plants [2] in India by the end of the year 2022, and the past five years have seen considerable growth towards this.Â
