Hyundai Casper: This Affordable Micro SUV Is Coming To Market, Production Started September 15

South Korean automaker Hyundai is preparing to launch a new Micro SUV globally soon, dubbed the ‘Casper’ in media reports. Its codename is AX1 in the international market. This Micro SUV is small in size and very low in price. The company is said to begin production on September 15.

In fact, the Micro SUV was built on the company’s K1 platform, on which the company’s famous hatchback cars, the Santro and Grand i10 Neos, were built. According to information, the car will be first launched in the company’s domestic market in South Korea, which will later be sold in other markets such as India. A few days ago, the company also released a teaser of the car, featuring its circular headlamp and taillamp.

Let us tell you that the Indian market is very important to Hyundai and the demand for such small SUV models is very high in the market here. In such a situation, there is no doubt about the success of Casper in the Indian market. In the Indian market, after Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai has the upper hand in the passenger car segment. On the other hand, in the Micro SUV segment, Tata Motors is preparing to launch its new HBX, which was showcased at the last Auto Expo.

This small SUV looks like this:

It is Hyundai’s smallest SUV, so its size is less than 4 meters, which is slightly smaller than the Hyundai Venue model on the market. According to media reports, the SUV can be 3,595mm long, 1,595mm wide and 1,575mm tall. However, there has been no official confirmation on the matter yet. If we look at this size, it is slightly shorter than the Santro hatchback, which is 3,610mm long, but the height of this SUV is higher than the Santro. The Santro is only 1,560mm tall.

As for the engine, it can be powered by a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 83 hp and 114 Nm of torque. In addition, the company can also offer a 1.1-liter petrol engine in its lower variants, keeping its price low.

However, it’s hard to say anything about the new Hyundai Casper price before its release. Experts believe it could be introduced in the Indian market at 4.5 lakh to 5 lakh. It is important to note that the company has not yet shared any information on the introduction of this car in the Indian market.
