ICICI Home Loan: ICICI Home Finance on Friday said it introduced a simple home loan facility for self-employed workers and workers who do not have income tax return records to declare their income. The company said in a statement that the project was launched under the ‘Big Freedom Month’ on Independence Day, a day when people who do not have an income tax return can borrow a home to buy their dream home.

The company said carpenters, plumbers, electricians, tailors, painters, auto mechanics, auto, taxi drivers and others could take on site loans under the scheme. All they have to do is provide their PAN card, Aadhaar card and six months bank account details. Under the scheme, home loan borrowers can avail subsidy of up to Rs 2.67 lakh under the Prime Minister Awas Scheme (PMAY), the company said. This is a debt link subsidy scheme for the low income group and the financially vulnerable group.
