IND vs ENG: Jack Leach has proved to be a ‘headache’ for India, now wants to complete this goal

England spinner Jack Leach says his team’s performance in the upcoming five-match Test series will determine where he is headed in terms of game development. Leach played in a Test series in India earlier this year and is confident of performing well in the upcoming home series. The left-arm spinner picked up 18 wickets in a four-match series in India’s tour of England in February-March.

Leach said his success in India gave him confidence to perform well in Nottingham’s Trent Bridge starting series on Wednesday. “I believe I can do better against these players,” Leach told The Guardian. “If the wicket is good, it is a matter of one’s skill. I enjoy spin bowling in England. The wickets are usually very dry (this time of year) and spinners definitely play a part in it.

Former Australian fast bowler Glenn McGrath tweeted that Chetan Zacharya and Sandeep Warrior make their debut

“The five-Test series against a strong team like India tells us what our level is,” he said. Leach is keen to do well in the series so that he can secure his place in the Ashes series. “I think I’m still trying to find a place in the team by doing well on a regular basis. I want to make sure my game is good so that I can consistently perform well and keep my place in the team.
