Former Indian cricketer Laxman Sivaramakrishnan said that the Indian team has been facing the problem of finishers in recent times. India is currently looking for a finisher. He said all-rounder Hardik Pandya could play the role of a finisher like Yuvraj Singh and MS Dhoni. From India’s perspective, 27-year-old Pandya could play a key role in the upcoming T20 World Cup. He said bowling gives him confidence and is the key to Hardik’s fitness success.
Sivaramakrishnan told the Hindustan Times, ‘After Dhoni and Yuvraj, the finisher is India’s problem. After Dhoni we are still looking for a good finisher. Hardik Pandya can be a very dangerous finisher. That is why it is important that he get full fitness and then when he starts bowling, he becomes more confident. He said, “Hardik can contribute in all three sections of the game. Whenever he makes a contribution, he becomes a good cricketer both technically and mentally. The key to India’s success in white ball cricket is Hardik Pandya’s fitness and if he can play to the best of his ability, it will be great.
