Maruti Suzuki is no match for passenger car segment in Indian market. For decades, Maruti Suzuki has been known in the domestic market for its economical and good mileage cars. The Maruti Alto has long been a best-selling car, but in June, the WagonR, popularly known as the company’s tallest boy, became the best-selling car.
Looking at sales figures, the company sold 19,447 units of WagonR in June last year, up 179% from 6,972 units in June last year. Speaking of the Maruti Alto, on the other hand, 12,513 units were sold, down from 7,298 units in June 2020. In June, the sales of the two cars stood at 6,934 units.
Why is this car famous?
Maruti WagonR is available in Indian market with CNG variant with petrol engine. Due to the tall boy’s boxy design, the car also gets good space and legroom in the cabin. As for the engine, it comes with two different petrol engines. One of its variants is offered with a 1.0 liter petrol engine (68 PS / 90 Nm). On the other hand, the second variant is powered by a 1.2-liter petrol engine (83 PS / 113 Nm). Its CNG variant comes with a 1.0-liter engine that produces 60PS of power and 78Nm of torque. The car is equipped with a 5 speed manual and an automatic gearbox.
