Top-ranked T20 batsman David Malan will make his debut at the age of 33. He is set to strike on behalf of Punjab Kings in IPL 2021. At the auction of IPL 2021, Malan was bought by Punjab Kings at a base price of Rs 1.50 crore. Malan made his international debut four years ago. He scored an average of 50.15 at T20 International. Malan said in an interview that he has talked about his game plan in the IPL. Malan said he wanted to use the experience gained from the IPL at the upcoming T20 World Cup.
“You have to perform well to get selected in the IPL,” Malan said. Most IPL teams do not have English coaches. For this reason, selecting IPL is not easy. You see more Australians playing, because most teams have Australian coaches. My first priority is to play Test cricket for England. But playing Test cricket for England means you can’t give your name to the IPL. Because you have to play 9–8 four-day matches in a year, which happens during the IPL.

That said, criticism and anticipation are part of the game. We are all human. There are days when you never lift a bat and you hit any ball off the field. You have to play cricket as you wish but not according to people’s minds.
Being the world number one does not mean you have scored a century in 40 balls every day. Critics don’t really understand T20 cricket. T20 does not mean you play big shots with every ball. You have to put your ego aside and play for the team.
