IPL 2021: Delhi Capitals new captain, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant will be delighted with Ricky Potting’s statement

NEW DELHI: New Delhi captains have appointed wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant as their new captain. The decision was taken after Sriyar Iyer left the IPL due to injury. Delhi Capitals head coach Ricky Potting and Shreyas Iyer are also happy to have Pant. “This is a great opportunity for Pant to lead,” Potting said. Potting said the recent performances against Australia and England will help them lead the team and boost their confidence. He assured Pant that he has the full support of the coaching staff of the Delhi Capitals.

Ricky Potting said the two asons led by Shreyas were unbelievable and the results were proof of that. Young Rishabh has a good chance of successfully coming out against Australia and England. There is no doubt that this gives them confidence when playing a new role, which comes with a lot of responsibility. The coaching group is excited to work with them and we are looking forward to the start of this.

Raina predicted this when Punt was given the leadership of the Delhi Capitals.

“When Rishabh Pant was made captain, when I was injured by a shoulder injury and the Delhi Capitals had to pick their new captain, I have no doubt that Rishabh was the best man for this,” Iyer said. I wish them the best of luck. Regarding his new role, the 23-year-old Pant said he started my IPL journey from Delhi six years ago. I had a dream of captaining this team, and I am grateful to the owners of my team who felt that I deserved this role. There are so many good and great people around me, I can’t wait to give my best to my team.
