Chennai Super Kings have replaced Australian fast bowler Jason Behrendorf as a replacement for Josh Haaswood. Hazelwood has withdrawn its name from IPL 2021 in reference to the next busy schedule. Behrendorf had previously played for the Mumbai Indians in the IBL and was also impressed with his performance.

Before the start of the 14th season of the Indian Premier League, Josh Hazelwood withdrew his name from the tournament due to fatigue in the busy schedule of bio-bubble and international cricket. Chennai Super Kings have their first match against Delhi Capitals on April 10. CSK team failed to secure a place in the playoffs for the first time in IPL history.
