Japan’s Prime Minister Shinzo Abe to resign due to health reasons

According to officials of Japan’s ruling LDP party, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe will resign due to health reasons.

He had problems with ulcerative colitis for many years, but it is being said that his condition worsened more recently.

Public broadcaster NHK said Abe, 65, wants to avoid causing problems for his government.

Shinzo Abe’s term was to end in September 2021. On Monday, Shinzo Abe broke Japan’s record of being the longest PM.

Even in 2007, he suddenly resigned from his post due to ulcerative colitis. This is a serious disease of a large intestine, from which Abe is struggling with adolescence.
