In his article for the Archer DailyMail, he said, ‘Given the way I look at things, I can lose a few weeks of the year so that I can play a few more years in my career. I want to heal this injury permanently and that’s why I don’t want to rush to come back, because if it wasn’t completely correct I wouldn’t play any kind of cricket. ‘After Archer’s surgery on Friday, the ECB issued a statement saying, “England and Sussex fast bowler Joffra Archer had surgery on Friday to alleviate a chronic elbow problem.” He said, ‘Archer will now begin a rehabilitation period by working with the medical teams of the ECB and Sussex. Their progress will be reviewed by their doctors in about four weeks. After that they will be informed when they can return to bowling.

England are hoping that Archer will fully recover from his role in the T20 World Cup and Ashes in Australia later this year. Archer has been suffering again and again for the past one year with an elbow problem. Due to this injury, he was sidelined for several matches during his tour of South Africa in 2020 and India earlier this year. He faced the problem again after falling to a county match for Sussex in the past, when doctors decided to have surgery.
