Joravar Singh Kalsi, a YouTuber hailing from Delhi, and his comrade Gurpreet Singh, who goes by the name Lucky, were apprehended on Tuesday. They were accused of driving recklessly and putting the lives of other people in danger. This was due to a video that went viral on social media. The video depicted the duo throwing counterfeit currency notes onto the road from the rear of a moving vehicle. The act was a reenactment of a scene from the renowned web series known as “Farzi”. The incident occurred on Gold Course Road in Gurugram.
Vikas Kaushik, ACP of DLF Gurugram, has reported that both Jorawar Singh Kalsi and Gurpreet Singh, the accused, were taken into custody. Additionally, two other individuals were involved in the act by recording the video while riding a motorcycle. As per Kaushik, currency notes were discovered with Jorawar Singh Kalsi, and efforts are being made to retrieve the vehicle used in the offense.
According to ANI, a news agency, the police declared that Kalsi uploaded a Reel on his Instagram account on March 2. The Reel showed Kalsi and his friend Lucky carrying out the scene in a Maruti Baleno on Golf Course Road. Singh can be seen opening the boot of the car and tossing out counterfeit banknotes after Kalsi directs him to do so. The notes, which bore the inscription “Manoranjan Bank,” were found to be counterfeit by the police.
Vikas Kaushik, ACP DLF informed ANI, “The matter was brought to our attention through social media. In the clip, two individuals are seen traveling in a vehicle on Golf Course Road and recreating a scene from a web series. It seems that they did not have any authorization, and the act was performed without any safety precautions.”
