Judgment today in the V Sterlite case

The Chennai High Court is scheduled to give its verdict on Tuesday in the case of Vedanta seeking the reopening of the Sterlite plant in Thoothukudi.

The shooting took place when the people of Thoothukudi marched in 2018 claiming that the environment was being harmed by the Sterlite Copper plant in Thoothukudi. Thirteen people were killed in the shooting. Following this, the Tamil Nadu government ordered the closure and sealing of the Sterlite plant which was the cause of the problem.

The Tamil Nadu government has ordered the formation of a one-man inquiry commission headed by retired High Court Judge Aruna Jagadeesan into the shooting. The Commission has conducted 19 phases of investigations.

Meanwhile, Vedanta has filed a case in the Chennai High Court challenging the Tamil Nadu government’s order to close and seal the Sterlite plant.

The Chennai High Court is expected to rule on Tuesday in a case seeking to reopen the Sterlite plant.

In this context, People’s Justice Center party leader Kamal Haasan said, “Judgment in the Sterlite case tomorrow. We believe in justice. In response to the thinking of millions of people who believe that tomorrow will be ours, “I am you.” Has tweeted that.
