Kia Motor recently introduced its new electric crossover Kia EV6, now its mechanical details have been revealed. This crossover offered by a South Korean company is designed on the Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP). This electric crossover is offered in three different trims, including the EV6, EV6GT and EV6GT line.
This electric vehicle also features the company’s new logo. It will be launched in the market with two battery packs. The 77.4 kW battery pack is available in a long range variant and a 58.0 kW in standby variant. While the EV6 GT-line is available with both battery packs, the EV6 GT will only be launched in the market with a longer battery range. This is the first electric vehicle offered by the company with two wheel drive and four wheel drive options.
In its two-wheel drive variant, the company is offered a 77.4 kilowatt battery pack that delivers a range of up to 510 kilometers on a single charge. Although an electric vehicle, this crossover is able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in just 5.2 seconds. It uses a 168 kW electric motor that produces 229 ps of power. At the same time, the 239 kW capacity electric motor offered in the all-wheel drive variant produces 325 PS of power.
Among the lower-end variants of the EV6, the company is offering a 58.0 kilowatt capacity battery pack that can reach 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 6.2 seconds. This version has a 125 kW electric motor, while its all-wheel drive variant has a 173 kW electric motor.
The GT version is the most powerful:
The all-wheel-drive GT version of the EV6 Electric Crossover uses a 430 kW dual motor that produces 740 Nm of torque. The company claims that these variants can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 3.5 seconds. The top speed of this variant is 260 km per hour, which includes the use of special limited sleep software.
Fast charging system:
The company claims that the battery pack provided in the EV6 Electric Crossover charges 80 percent in just 18 minutes. It is offered with 800V and 400V charging capabilities, no extra unit or adapter required. With the help of top charging, this electric crossover can be charged in just 4.5 minutes, giving you a driving range of up to 100 kilometers.
