All automakers have released their sales figures for July. Meanwhile, in July 2021, Kia India achieved an annual (YoY) growth of 76 per cent. The company sold 15,016 vehicles last month. The company says it has crossed one lakh car sales boundaries in the calendar year of 2021. Tell us that Kia has recently introduced attractive financial plans to its customers.
Sonnet and Celltos
The biggest contributor to the company’s total sales in July was the sub-compact SUV Kia Sonnet. Last month, 7,675 units were sold. Similarly, the company’s midsize SUV, the Kia Cellos, also received positive feedback from customers. Kia Celltos sold 6,983 units in July. At the same time, 358 units of Kia Carnival MPV have been purchased.

A new MPV is coming
The South Korean car company has already announced that Kia India will launch its fourth car in the country by early 2022. It can be a compact mpv based on the cellos platform. Codenamed Kia KY, the car will compete with the upcoming compact mpv from Maruti Ertiga, Mahindra Marazzo and Hyundai and MG. It is likely to have a design, features and engine inspired by Kia Cellos. That means the 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol, 1.4L turbo GDI petrol and 1.5L turbo CRDi diesel engine options can be found in the car.

The Kia Compact MPV is expected to come with a 6- and 7-seater design. Its length is about 4.5 meters. Thus, it is 190 mm longer than the cellos. In India, this 3-raw MPV is produced at the company’s Anantapur plant. The company can also export to other Asian markets, including Indonesia. The company plans to sell 50,000 units of this car annually.
