Mannum house fire: Causes up to $300k in damage

In South Australia’s Murraylands region, CFS (Country Fire Service) teams were notified of a residential fire on Purnong Road in Mannum at approximately 3 am this morning. Upon arrival at the scene, eight crews discovered that the back portion of the house and a small shed were already ablaze. Despite their best efforts, they were unable to prevent the conflagration from engulfing the entire property, as the fire quickly spread throughout the house.

Fortunately, the homeowner was able to evacuate unharmed; however, the individual is presently receiving treatment for minor injuries at a local hospital. Although a large storage shed that housed vehicles was preserved, the total estimated loss resulting from the fire is believed to be approximately $300,000.
