Maruti Suzuki is slower than Hyundai and Kia for the first time, with many cars sold in a month

The country’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki has always dominated the passenger car segment. But for the first time, Maruti Suzuki has faced stiff competition from South Korean companies Hyundai and Kia. While the corona epidemic has had a bad impact on business, some companies have reported good growth in sales despite this. In May, Hyundai and Kia overtook Maruti Suzuki in terms of sales.

Hyundai and Kia India together sold 36,051 units in May. On the other hand, Maruti Suzuki managed to sell only 32,903 units during the period. Speaking of May next year, when the nationwide lockdown was imposed due to the corona epidemic, the two Korean companies sold 8,544 units and Maruti Suzuki 13,702 units.

Against this backdrop, sales of these companies increased by 322% and 140%, respectively, compared to May last year. However, last April, Maruti Suzuki always performed spectacularly. Hyundai and Kia together sold 65,113 units, while Maruti Suzuki sold 1,35,879 units.

The cars were hot in May:

In May, the Hyundai Creta became the best-selling car in the country. The company had sold 7,527 units in the month. On the other hand, Maruti Suzuki’s Swift came in second with 7,005 units. Hyundai’s sister care company, which recently entered the Indian market, is India’s third best-selling compact SUV sonnet with a total of 6,627 units. In addition, Tata Nexon and Maruti Dzire are the fifth best-selling cars in the world at number four.
