Monaco initially looked set to defeat Rumilly Villiers 5–1 to advance to the final of the French Cup, where they will face Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). PSG entered the final for the seventh consecutive year and will come to the field on Wednesday with the goal of winning the 14th title.
Monaco will try to win the title for the sixth time. He won the last title in 1991. Before that he reached the final in 2010, but lost to PSG. Alexei Pagut gave Rumley the lead in the 20th minute.

Seven minutes later, Monaco equalized with a suicide goal from Arthur Bonzon. Midfielder Orlean Chomeny gave him the edge five minutes later. Monaco was followed by Ben Yeder, Cesse Fabregas and Russian midfielder Alexander Golovkin in the second half.
