Novak Djokovic won the Australian Open 2021 title

Novak Djokovic won the Australian Open for the 9th time, 7-5, 6-2, 6-2 in the Australian Open final. Djokovic performed brilliantly throughout the match and Medvedev was never given a chance to return to the match. The match lasted 1 hour and 53 minutes, and Djokovic maintained his grip from start to finish. This was Djokovic’s 18th Grand Slam, and now only 2 titles away from the 20 Grand Slam records of Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.

The world’s number one tennis player has won six of the last 10 tournaments he has played and if he performs the same, he can beat Federer and Nadal. Roger Federer missed the tournament due to knee surgery for the first time in his career, losing to Nadal Stephanos Sithipas in the quarter-finals. In the final of the Women’s Australian Open, Naomi Osaka defeated Jennifer Brady 6-4, 6-3 to win the trophy. In the semifinals, Osaka defeated Serena Williams to win her record 24th Grand Slam.
