So how does the anthology charge? There are a couple of good shorts out there. One of the shorts emerges from the rest in what is very different in tone, and one of them is quite shocking. In this feature, we look at each section separately and rank them from best to worst. Start with our least favorite section on compilation…

Reunion

Putham Pudhu Kalai Movie Review: Amazon Prime Anthology Film Bringing Well-Acted Heartfelt Stories Of Love, Bond And Miracles!

A Still from the Reunion by Putham Pudhu Kalai

Directed by Rajiv Menon (Kandukonden Kandukonden), Reunion Stars Lila Samson, Andrea and Gurucharan C. It’s about a chic musician, a junkie who comes to live with his former school friend, a doctor who lives with his mother. Reunion Has an interesting premise and deals with drug addiction without being sensitive. But the effect is not much, the parts are rushed and Menon’s direction is surprisingly average. There are some good moments, and Samson is always a beautiful sight for sore eyes.

Coffee, anyone?

Still out of the coffee, anyone? By Putham Pudhu Kalai

From here, the competition gets tougher. Suhasini Mani Ratnam (Indira) Returns to direction with this small section, which is a reunion for the Hassan cousins. Along with her cousins, Anu Hasan and Shruti Haasan, Suhasini forms three siblings, two of whom come to visit their elderly parents, one of whom is in a coma (the mother is played by Suhasini’s real mothers). COVID-19 doesn’t really matter much in the story, Coffee, anyone? It is a highly emotional roller-coaster, with family members trying to find comfort and happiness with each other with a happy but touching orgasm. Shruti Haasan has given a wonderful performance in her brief appearance.

Avum Iam – Avalam Iam

A Still From Awum Nam – Avalam nanam by Putham Pudhu Kalai

Gautam MenonVinayitandi Varuvaya) S Avum Iam – Avalam Iam About reconnecting with her estranged maternal grandfather during the lockdown. It starts with this simple, exhilarating film about two different people trying to find common ground. And then a scene changes it from good to good. When thatha All this reveals why he was so angry at his daughter. Menon is always thrown into scenes where the characters negotiate from heart to heart, which is reflected in that one scene. MS Bhaskar’s performance here is absolutely amazing and his performance will shed you to tears. This section also includes Govind Vasantha’s “semi-classical composition.Kanna Toodhu Po Dr“.

Miracle

A Still From Miracle by Putham Pudhu Kalai

Miracle, Directed by Karthik Subbaraj (Jigartanda), The odds I mentioned earlier. Thanks to its black comedy tone from the rest of it, it does not confine itself to one place and is very undesirable. This is a form of Subbaraj’s return to his comfort zone, and the directors rejoice in the dark humor and twisted narrative of the film. This section is a treat for those who are disappointed with how they handled Rajinikanth PETTA. Both Bobby Simha and Sharat Ravi are amazing as the two thieves try to get bigger during the lockdown.

Ilamai Idho Idho

A Still by Ilamai Idho Idho by Putham Pudhu Kalai

Sudha kongaraIruhdi Sutru) S Ilamai Idho Idho This is the first section of the compilation that gives you a good start. The film brings together two of the most beloved couples in Malayalam cinema, Jayaram and Vas Rwashi, in a fun weekend behind their children’s backs. On the same night, Prime Minister Modi announces a lockdown, confined to a house for 21 days. The funny thing about this short film is that whenever a couple gets naughty, we see their younger ones, played by Kalidas and Kalyani Priyadarshan. Sudha Kongara’s light heart treatment, assisted by GV Prakash Kumar’s retro score, keeps the segment lively.
