Railways said, private train operators will have freedom to choose halts for halt

Railways (Indian Railways) has said that private operators will be given the responsibility of running 150 private trains on 109 routes i.e. they will be allowed to choose the stations where they want to halt their trains. It has been revealed from the documents issued by the railway. However, for this, private train operators have to first provide a list of intermediate stations to the railways where they want private train halts. The halted stations will be the places where private trains will be apart from the start and destination.

According to the conditions of the railway, private train operators will have to list the stoppage at the stations falling in the middle of the route as well as the time at which the train will arrive at the station and when it will leave. This will be a part of the private rail operations plan. The draft agreement states that the timetable for stay will be for one year, with the private train operator being informed first. However, stagnation at stations between private trains can also be reviewed. Railways will have the right to it.

According to the news agency PTI, on the question of a possible private operator involved in the pre-application meeting, the Railways said that the company can take a flexible approach in deciding the stay at the stations as per the terms and conditions. However, the railways has also stated that private trains will not be allowed to hold more stops at the stoppage of the fastest running trains on that route at present. Private train operators will also have to include stations which are needed for filling water in bogies, cleaning, etc.
