Rajasthan: 9930 candidates from 90 municipalities decide their fate, polling continues today

Elections are being held today in 90 of the 20 districts of Rajasthan. The voting process began at 8 am and will continue till 5 pm. The state election commission has appealed to state voters to vote with Kovid’s guidelines. As of the last date of withdrawal, 15 thousand 101 candidates have submitted 18 thousand 510 nominations, the Chief Election Commissioner said. After scrutiny and revocation of nominations, there are now 9,000 930 candidates in the electoral arena.

These rules have to be maintained

Chief Election Commissioner P.S. Mehra has appealed to voters to go to the polls by wearing masks from their homes. Swatch it up before going to the polling station and wait for your turn by standing on the marked ballots or doing the appropriate stitches while standing in line. He said senior citizens and PWDs should be given priority when voting. He appealed to voters, candidates or their supporters not to stand in the crowd or in or around the polling station. The commissioner said voters have played the role of a vigilant citizen by voting with full vigor and enthusiasm in various elections in the state in the past and following Kovid’s guidelines. He has appealed to voters to cast their votes in civic polls — 21 and others.

More than 30 lakh voters will be able to vote

Explain that 5253 booths were installed for 3035 wards of 90 bodies. There are 30 lakhs 28 thousand 544 voters in these institutions, of which 15 lakh 47 thousand 974 men, 14 lakh 80 thousand 514 women and 56 other voters are able to exercise their franchise. He said that there are now 9930 candidates remaining in the electorate after scrutiny and withdrawal of nomination papers.

Thirty thousand staff are holding elections

Around 30,000 personnel have been deployed for all levels for polling, counting and other activities to be held, the Election Commissioner said. A large number of police forces have been deployed to maintain law and order and conduct peaceful elections.

There will be elections by over 8,000 EVMs

Mehra said 8328 EVM machines will be used in this election. He informed that 5253 booths have been set up for 3035 wards. In Corona’s view, the commission has a voter turnout of about 750.

Alternative documents can also be voted on

Each voter must bring an electoral photo identity card issued by the Election Commission of India for voting. In the absence of these, voters can vote by pointing to one of the other 11 alternative documents. Aadhaar Card, Passport, Driving License, Income Tax Identity Card (PAN), Government Identity Card issued to Members of Parliament, Members of Parliament, State or Central Government, Limited Liability Company, Public Sector Organizations, Service Identity Cards for their Employees Plan smart card, pension book of ex-servicemen, pension payment order, widow or dependent certificate of ex-serviceman, old age pension order or widow pension order (Student Certificate taken by Election Program Competent Authority (issued before election date) Physical disability certificate with photo (issued before the date of the election program announcement), public sector voting. Photo passbooks (issued before the date of the election schedule) are issued by banks or cooperative banks or post offices.
