India off-spinner Ravichandran made his debut for Surrey at the Ashwin County Championship. Ashwin achieved a big milestone in this game. Ashwin made this special record against Somerset, playing for Surrey at the County Championships. This was done in 2010 by Jeetan Patel. In preparation for the upcoming Test series against England, Ashwin decided to play in the County Championship.

Prior to Surrey, Ashwin played for Nottinghamshire and Worcestershire. Ashnin will play for Surrey in this match. After this, he will join the India squad for a practice session to prepare for the series against England. The first Test of the five-match Test series between India and England will begin on August 4.
