Applications for the second phase of private schools in Uttar Pradesh began under the RTE Act from Thursday. 54,727 children have been given schools in the first phase. There are more than four lakh seats in the state under the RTE Act. The children of poor and destitute families are admitted to private schools under RTE on the instruction of the Chief Minister. This year, 34,483 schools have been selected for admission under the RTE in schools mapping. Children will be admitted in 4,07,978 seats in these schools. The first stage lottery is done.
Applications for maximum admissions have been received in about ten districts of the state under RTE. These districts include Lucknow, Varanasi, Kanpur City, Aligarh, Moradabad, Gorakhpur, Ghaziabad, Agra, Gautam Buddha Nagar and Saharanpur. The maximum number of seats has been entered in these districts.
