Sanjay Manjrekar said – I have no problem with Ravindra Jadeja, but …

Former Test batsman and legendary commentator Sanjay Manjrekar has been filled with 2019 controversies. Team India’s star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja made a controversial comment during the ICC World Cup 2019. The narrator was met with a lot of criticism at the time. Following this, co-host Harsha Bhogle was criticized for not playing cricket in the Pink Ball Test between India and Bangladesh at the historic Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) took Manjrekar’s remarks seriously and in March 2020, a way out of the comment panel was shown. Prior to the start of the IPL 2020, he twice wrote to the BCCI to be included in the comment panel again, but the board rejected his appeal altogether.

10 months later, Manjrekar is back on the comment panel again during the India and Australia series, where he is sharing his expertise. Since Cricket Australia has the right to host the series, the BCCI has nothing to say about the election of the interpretation committee.

During a conversation with ‘The Hindu’, Manjrekar expressed his views on Jadeja and said that he has no problem with this all-rounder, but that he has problems with players like Jadeja in ODIs and T20s. “My choices and ideas are based on the principles I have learned over the years,” Manjrekar told ‘The Hindu’. “I have no problem with Jadeja. I have a problem with cricketers like him in white ball cricket. I don’t even have Hardik Pandya in my team. I always prefer Jadeja in Test format.”
