Satish Kaushik was born on April 13, 1956, in Mahendragarh, Haryana. He graduated from Delhi University’s Kirori Mal College in 1972 and attended both the Indian Film and Television Institute and the National School of Drama. He married Shashi Kaushik in 1985. In 1996, he tragically lost his son, Shanu Kaushik, at the age of two. Later in life, he had a daughter named Vanshika born in 2012 through surrogacy.

Satish Chandra Kaushik, a celebrated Indian artist, made a name for himself as an actor, director, producer, comedian, and screenwriter. He gained widespread recognition for his performances as “Calendar” in Mr. India, “Pappu Pager” in Deewana Mastana, and “Chanu Ahmed” in the acclaimed British director Sarah Gavron’s film Brick Lane (2007).
Kaushik’s portrayal of “Willy Loman” in the Hindi version of Arthur Miller’s Death of a Salesman, Salesman Ramlal, earned him critical acclaim as a theatre artist.
The enduring comedy Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron, directed by Kundan Shah (1983), bears testimony to Kaushik’s writing prowess.
In 1993, he made his directorial debut with Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja, a film directed by Sridevi, followed by Prem (1995), which was to be Tabu’s first film. His first commercial success as a producer came in 1999 with Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rehte Hain.
