Digging into the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) claim that the saffron flag needs a Shiv Sena purification, Shiv Sena said the BJP had nothing to do with the saffron flag. “The Shiv Sena’s saffron flag has been hoisted in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) for three decades and the BJP has dared to remove it,” party mouthpiece Samana said in an editorial.
Allied rivals BJP and Shiv Sena – The country’s richest civic bodies are fighting to gain control of the BMC, which is set to run for election in 2022. Devendra Fadnavis said on Wednesday that the BJP will take over the party after February 2022. BJP leader Ashish Shelar responded by saying that the saffron flag of the Shiv Sena last November had to be cleansed after renouncing Hinduism with the Congress and the nationalist Congress party.
The editorial said on Friday – BJP leaders did not say that the saffron flag was flown in Bihar after their recent victory. After joining the Shiv Sena he joined the saffron flag. This is Mumbai [नागरिक निकाय] But this is happening because the BJP is not with the Shiv Sena. This saffron flag is clean, bright and effective. “
Though the BJP has included the descendants of the Maratha warrior king Shivaji in his party, it says that Shivaji’s saffron flag belongs to the Marathi people. “Those who are plotting to remove the saffron flag of Marathi pride and Hindu fundamentalism are betraying Hinduism in the country,” the editorial said.
