Simi Singh made history, becoming the first batsman in the world

South Africa beat Ireland by 70 runs in the second match of the three-match ODI series. With this win, the South African team managed to draw the series 1-1. Simi has become the first batsman in the world to score a century while batting at number 8 in ODI cricket. Sweetheart Malan scored 177 for South Africa while Quinton de Kock also scored a century.

Simi Singh is the first player to score a century while batting at 8 or less. Prior to that, the highest scoring record when batting in this position was named after Chris Vox, who scored an unbeaten 95 against Sri Lanka in 2016 Sam Curran scored 95 against India in ODIs this year. South Africa scored 346 in their 50 overs with the innings of De Kock and Malan.
