Farmers Saturday’s rousing announcement to encircle Delhi and make the toll plaza ‘open’ could not rise as expected. Is it the result of government action or the failure of the organizers of the movement, who failed to spread it beyond Delhi’s rate? It was the same feeling during the ‘Bharat Bandh’. Farmers claim that farmers will travel to Delhi from some other places on Sunday. In addition, a nationwide strike has been declared on December 14, along with a fasting rally.
On the other hand, there are agile governments at the center and in the states, who know that they need generous open palms with folded fists to open the gall of power. With all the clearances on behalf of Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar and Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal, this has led to the government having no ego. We are ready to clarify every issue, but the movement is going on and we are ready to give it a new edge. Why?
A few things about religion before you find the answer to this question. There have been times in the history of independent India when the country’s capital was under siege. But the truth is that Dharana is organized mainly by farmers in Punjab, Haryana and western Uttar Pradesh. There are a limited number of farmers from other parts of the country. If they could come up with more, it probably wouldn’t be good for anyone. There was a risk of spreading all kinds of disorders.
The way farmers came to Delhi at the junction is amazing. They had already arranged for medicine, food, and long-term care. Not only this, but because of his good faith, he won the sympathy of those around him, thereby gaining an immediate supply of scarcity. Gurudwaras and all service-oriented organizations have already come with them. However, they are certainly being cultivated for how long they will be able to sustain this attitude of peace and companionship.
The same question was raised 32 years ago when Chaudhary Mahendra Singh Tikite performed a boat club with millions of farmers. But he did as he wished. It must be remembered here that the movement of the ticket is a product of a specific purpose and area. Things have changed a lot since then. Well, that means farmer and farmer. In the last few years, we have witnessed the long peasant movements of Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Maharashtra, but it is no coincidence that they speak together in one voice. The big reason for this is that their cause is different everywhere. One virtue of the peasantry is that their resistance is usually nonviolent. The current movement is still following this path.
Of the thousands joining in for the long war, only the peasantry can talk about unity rather than excitement. This does not mean that there were only positively speaking people in the crowd near the gate of Delhi. There were some who were whispering that we had won Delhi 18 times, even this time. There were others who wanted to do more provocative work, but before they became active they were spreading pranks. This is the reason most people in the world have a feeling of peace on the tongue and they are saying that we are sitting quietly like this.
The attempt to provoke them was also from the outside. Hundreds of people were trying to prove Dharnarat Dharthiputra as a ‘Khalistani’. If anyone was telling them that China or Pakistan was part of the conspiracy, then they were not seen as farmers in costumes. Who was trying to fill the Sholay in burying the ashes? Farmers may not be outraged by this, but there is certainly growing distrust among them. The effort of the Center’s senior minister could not be reached. There is a humble plea from these ‘respectable’ people to control their speech. They must understand that there is a fundamental difference in resistance to this movement and Shaheen Bagh.
It is true, however, that the early success of this movement has made the peasantry a little more ambitious. Calling ‘Bharat Bandh’ without all the preparation is not a very good decision. This gave the Opposition the opportunity to join in the fire and from here the politicization of the movement began. It was clear that the farmers had called for Bandh by Tuesday afternoon but they were not accustomed to block the entire country. The ‘bandh’ was only able to make an impact in the states where the opposition governments were or where the opposition was strong. In Maharashtra, where there is an anti-BJP government, the shutdown can only have a partial effect, but the farmers there have been agitating for a long time. This allowed the NDA units to claim that the entire movement was created by the opposition. The government has tightened the loopholes of law and order to curb the ‘bandh’ and has pitched all its major leaders. This is the reason why farmer leaders then improve their strategy. He set a new limit to distance himself from political sarmas and made a difference to those who were involved in Shaheen Bagh in the name of human rights.
Every conflict has a period and this movement ends today, as I requested in a column previously, if not today, but the agreement on either side is not enough. We need to teach the farmers of the country new farming techniques and take appropriate measures to increase their income. So far the Indian farmer has traditionally believed in sowing wheat and rice. As a result, we over-grow wheat and rice.
On the one hand, people do not get enough food in the country and on the other hand, the government has no place to store food grains. Why not give farmers expertise to produce different products depending on the weather and soil quality so that it benefits the farmers, controls the prices and increases the yield of the agricultural products that are lacking in our country? . At this time, there is a need for a complete agrarian revolution in the country, not any other revolution. Are the government and farmers ready for this?
