South African player Shahid Afridi angry at the IPL 2021 series

In the last match of the three-match ODI series, Pakistan defeated South Africa by 28 runs to win the series 2–1. With no significant players, the South African side descended to the ground, not dominating Pakistan at any stage of the match. Fakhar Zaman’s unbeaten century and captain Babar Azam’s unbeaten 94 came in the unilateral match as the batting team scored 320 runs for the loss of 720 wickets. In response, the entire South African team was all out after scoring 292 runs. Meanwhile, former Pakistan batsman Shahid Afridi has questioned the South African players who have left the ODI series and moved on to the IPL. “It is very sad that international cricket is affected by T20 leagues,” he said.

Shahid Afridi wrote on his Twitter handle, ‘Cricket South Africa was surprised to see their players allowed to go to the IPL during the middle series. It is sad that T20 leagues have an impact on international cricket. It needs to be considered. “South Africa’s key players such as Quinton Deacock, Kagiso Rabada and Enrich Nortje have not appeared since taking part in the IPL.

Pakistan’s Fakhar Zaman has been a spectacular form in this ODI series and he has scored two consecutive centuries in the last two matches. Fakhar scored 193 in the second ODI and set a world record by playing the largest innings in ODI cricket history. Fakhar was cleverly run out by Quinton Dickcock, also played by South African players.
