Sri Lankan star all-rounder Angelo Mathews, who was ruled out of South Africa last month due to a hamstring injury, will return to cricket from the Test series with England starting January 14. His name has been included in the 22-man squad announced by Sri Lanka Cricket on Wednesday for a two-Test series with England. The team command has been handed over to Dimuth Karunaratne.
Mathews was included in the squad for the two Tests against South Africa, but was later dropped due to a hamstring injury in the domestic T20.
