Supreme Court: JEE, NEET exams cannot be postponed: Supreme Court

Supreme Court: The Supreme Court has dismissed a petition seeking cancellation of NEET and JEE entrance examinations. The court rejected a petition seeking adjournment of tests due to the corona virus crisis. The Supreme Court on Monday clarified that the NEET and JEE entrance examinations will be held as per the schedule.

Eleven students from 11 states have petitioned the Supreme Court not to administer the entrance exams in the wake of the Corona virus. The Supreme Court said it was dismissing the petition filed by the students.

A bench comprising Justices Arun Mishra, BR Gawai and Krishna Murari heard the case. ‘Kovid’ must take care and move forward. Circumstances may not change for another year. If tests are postponed now for fear of a virus, a similar situation could be expected next year. Will it be adjourned even then? ‘ JEE Mains is already planning to hold NEET on September 13 from September 1 to 16 at 161 centers across the country.
