Rajesh Kumar- Digging public figures is not the best way to earn a classy joke!
When it comes to making audiences laugh without effort, there is no better name in the current Indian television industry than actor Rajesh Kumar. Currently, Rajesh’s style of delivering comic scenes with producers Sanjay Kohli and Binifer Kohli’s appearance as the main Sanam of Excuse Me Madam is loved by the country and how! But, when it comes to his personal choice of entertaining from comedy, Rajesh has a high bar for himself.
“I want to watch shows based on character and situation. For me, comedy is a reflection of the society in which you live or the society you come from. So, I am essaying something that is middle-class and humorous. “I don’t watch many comedy shows on television because in the name of comedy, they’ve been doing the same thing for 30-40 years. Nothing unique. British comedy, English comedy is something I love to see,” says the talented actor, Roshesh Sarabhai’s role in the iconic Sarabhai vs. Sarabhai show. Anyone can light a dull day.
This actor, who has been in the television industry for over 2 decades, also sheds light on what the sense of humor is and how the subject of humor reflects on the creativity of a writer or artist.
First, addressing the complaint of the Double Meaning Dialogues in comedy shows, “I don’t think there are too many Double Meaning jokes in many comedy shows. A couple of them do that because they have a male audience and they serve 40 male audiences. ”
Second, the skilled actor believes that digging public figures is not the best way to collect classy humor.
“I’m against mocking famous people because it shows the limits of comedy and comedy writing. A lot of humor can happen without anyone digging in. That’s the creative element we need to remember. I don’t like Belt Humor because it doesn’t taste good when you’re watching it with your family. In the long run you will be more realistic, you will be more consistent as an actor or a serial. For me, comedy has to have a recurring value, people should enjoy re-runs but many times you can’t watch comedy shows again, so we have to focus and focus again. With shows like Vs Sarabhai, you can watch it again and again. The real humor lies, ”he says.
The Kapil Sharma Show, hosted by comedian Kapil Sharma, has recently had a difficult time introducing media personality. Rajesh feels that though the show has a huge fan base, there is no need to look down on anyone.
“Off-late I didn’t follow Kapil’s show. I was like before. So, there’s no question of comparison or similarity. I think it works fine. He should be very careful not to look down on anyone for a laugh. Half of the script isn’t scripted and you do something from it.” I would say that your creativity and your own sense of humor should reflect when you are doing this kind of work.
