In the field of electric mobility, automakers are constantly introducing new models. Tata Motors, the country’s leading automaker, is working on a new electric version of its famous premium hatchback, the Tata Altroz. This is the company’s first car to be manufactured on the Alpha Platform, and has now received news about its range.
Tata Motors will use the Ziptron Electric Powertrain in the Altroz EV. But the most interesting thing is that the car is likely to get an additional battery pack option. It is said in the media reports that this large battery pack offers 25 to 40% higher driving range, which is around 500 km. If the reports are to be believed, this car can run up to 500 km on a single charge.
The Tata Altroz Electric is expected to come with a larger battery pack than the Nexon EV, taking longer to charge. Although the company has not yet shared any information on this, the statistics for this driving range are entirely based on media reports.
Currently, Tata Motors uses a 30.2 kW capacity battery pack on its Nexon Electric. This SUV’s electric motor produces 127bhp of power. This SUV delivers a range of up to 312 km on a single charge. In this sense, the 25 to 40% higher driving range is obtained for the Altroz Electric, which can exceed the driving range of 500 km.
What’s the price:
Tata Altroz Electric will also benefit from a new FAME II project implemented by the central government. It is believed that the impact of this project will be evident on the price of the car. Though it is difficult to say anything about the price of this car before the launch, experts say it could be launched between Rs 10 and Rs 12 lakh.
