Saurashtra’s Jayadev Shah, a newly formed working member of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), said that not only Ranji players but also cricketers of all ages should be compensated for missing matches in the previous season. Former Saurashtra skipper Jayadev said the amount would be decided by the working group after a consultation with BCCI secretary Jay Shah and President Sourav Ganguly on how cricketers will be compensated.
Jaidev told PTI, “The working group has now been formed and we will work under the guidance of Jai Bhai (BCCI Secretary). No time limit has yet been fixed, but whatever the compensation, I think it should be given to cricketers of all ages. The Ranji Trophy tournament will be held from November 16 to February 19.
