After May 4 it will increase 21 times

Petrol and diesel prices have increased 21 times since May 4 this year. At the moment, petrol costs Rs 4.97 per liter and diesel costs Rs 5.55 per liter. Oil markets set daily prices in the domestic market based on the average of the last 15 days of prices in the international market. Mumbai is India’s first metropolis and on May 29, petrol costs Rs 100 per liter. Petrol currently costs Rs 101.25 in Mumbai. And Rs 93.35 per liter of diesel.

Fuel prices vary from state to state due to local taxes such as value added tax (VAT) and freight charges. Retail prices of automotive fuels are rising as international crude oil prices continue to rise. Due to rising demand, investors expect the market to be able to use additional output from OPEC and its allies. Brent crude currently reaches $ 72 per barrel. It has reached this level for the first time in two years. Rajasthan imposes the highest VAT on petrol and diesel in the country. Followed by Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Petrol and diesel rates will thus be increased

Once excise duty, dealer commission and other items are added to the price of petrol and diesel, its price will double. If the central government excise tariffs and the state governments’ VAT is removed, the diesel and petrol rates could be around Rs 27 per liter, but whether it is the central or state government, both taxes cannot be eliminated at any cost. Because the bulk of the revenue comes from here. This money will lead to development.

Prices are set every morning

In fact, petrol and diesel prices fluctuate daily based on crude prices in the international market in addition to foreign exchange rates. Oil market companies set petrol and diesel prices every day after checking prices. Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum revise petrol and diesel rates at 6am every morning.
