The remaining matches of the IPL 2021 will be played from September 19, the date on which the final will be played

The remaining matches of the 14th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will begin on September 19, with the final match scheduled for October 10. This information was provided by a BCCI official. Notably, the BCCI has approved the decision to host the remaining 31 matches of the IPL 2021 at SGM in the UAE. The BCCI postponed the tournament indefinitely on May 4 after several players became known as corona positive.

Speaking to ANI, a BCCI official said, “The talks with the ECB (Emirates Cricket Board) went well and they have verbally agreed to host the tournament before the BCCI SGM. Following the reopening of Season Tue, the first match will be played on September 19 and the final will be on October 15. Talking about the availability of overseas players, the official said, “negotiations have begun and we are expecting more foreign players to be available for the tournament.”

In a recent interview, BCCI vice-president Rajiv Shukla made it clear that the absence of foreign players would have no impact on the tournament. He said, ‘We have also discussed the issue of foreign players. Our main focus is to complete this season of IPL. Can’t leave it in the middle. So it is best to have any foreign players available. We will not stop organizing the tournament as it will not be available for the rest of the match. Indian players attend, foreign players are present, but some foreign players are not. Like I said, we have to finish the tournament.
