Maruti Suzuki has dominated the segment, especially the company’s cheapest car, the Maruti Alto 800, which has been a favorite of the Indian market for decades. Available in a total of 6 variants, the base of this car is the standard variant which costs Rs 2.99 lakh. And the top model VXI Plus is priced at Rs 4.60 lakh. This means that the price of these two variants is around Rs 1.61 lakh. As far as engine and performance are concerned, all variants are the same, the company used a 796cc petrol engine that produces 40.3bhp of power and 60Nm of torque. Maruti Alto (STD):
This is the original variant of the Maruti Alto with a starting price of Rs 2.99 lakh. And its standard option variant is priced at Rs 3.04 lakh. As mentioned, the same engine is used in all variants. As for features, it gets a center cap on all wheels and the interior is decorated with dual colors (black and beige). Vinyl seat upholstery is provided with driver side sun visors, front and rear bottle holders and quality safety features. Headlight leveling, high mounted stop lamp, immobilizer, front wiper and washer, driver side airbag, anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic brake force distribution (EBD), reverse parking sensor, speed alert system are prominent. It does not have an audio system.
Maruti Alto LXi:
This is its second variant, which starts at Rs 3.76 lakh, while its optional version costs Rs 3.80 lakh. Apart from the standard variant, body-colored bumper and door handle, the car is offered with full wheel covers. It gives a little better look to its exterior. The interiors are given a silver accent on the steering wheel, AC vents and door handle with fabric and vinyl upholstery. It has features like Air Condition (AC), Power Steering, Front Power Windows, Integrated Seat Headrest, Front Passenger Sun Viser, Remote Boot Lid Opener. Apart from quality features such as safety, child lock and ELR seatbelt are provided. The driver-side airbag is available in its optional variants.
Maruti Alto VXI:
This is the third variant of this and costs Rs 4.02 lakh. And its Plus (VXI +) variant is priced at Rs 4.16 lakh. In addition to the features offered in the LXI variant of this car, body side molding, the silver accent is used on the center console on the inside of the car. Convenience features center door lock, keyless entry, accessory socket, rear rear view mirrors (ORVM) adjustment from inside the car. It also has an audio system that can connect to USB and radio as well as Bluetooth. Two speakers are also included on the front. For the sake of safety, apart from standard safety features, the front passenger airbag is also provided.
