Toolkit Case: Court allows Disha Ravi to speak to family with masks, books and warm clothes

The Delhi court today granted permission to Disha Ravi, an environmental activist arrested in the ‘toolkit’ case, to get warm clothes, masks and books. In addition, the court has allowed Disha to speak to her mother and other family members and obtain FIR copies and other documents related to her arrest in the ‘toolkit’ case.

Delhi Police cyber cell team arrested Bangalore environmental activist Disha Ravi (22) on Sunday for sharing a ‘toolkit’ relating to farmers’ performance against three new agricultural laws on social media.

Disha Ravi has been arrested from Bangalore in connection with a criminal conspiracy investigation into the toolkit, police said. He is one of the creators of ‘Toolkit’ and the main conspirator of document making and dissemination.

After his arrest, Disha was produced in court, where he was sent to five days of police custody. Police are also investigating whether she was in contact with most of the people involved in the case.

Delhi Police has asked Google and other social media companies to provide information about email IDs, domain URLs and certain social media accounts associated with the ‘toolkit’ makers. This ‘toolkit’ was shared on Twitter by environmental activist Greta Thunberg and others in Sweden. On February 4, Delhi police lodged an FIR against the makers of ‘Toolkit’.
