UPSC CS Pre Exam 2020: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2020 is being conducted today (Sunday, 4 October 2020) at various examination centers across the country. The examination is scheduled in two shifts (9:30 am to 11:30 am and 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm) of which the examination of the first shift was completed with vigilance. The examination is being done at 2,569 centers in different cities of the country.

According to the affidavit filed by UPSC in the Supreme Court, more than 10 lakh youth have applied for the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2020.

In the capital Delhi, UPSC candidates arrived to take the exam amid the corona epidemic. A candidate told the news agency ANI that he has used public transport to reach the examination center. This method is not safe but they have no other option. Had to participate in the examination so used a public vehicle.

As of Monday, more than six and a half lakh (about 65 per cent) of the registered applicants had downloaded their admit card. Examination preparation has been completed. Earlier in the Supreme Court, when some candidates were petitioned to postpone the UPSC Pre Exam, the UPSC had said that it was impossible to postpone the examinations.

The Civil Services Preliminary Examination-2020 was earlier scheduled to be held on 31 May but due to the corona virus (Kovid-19) epidemic, the Commission postponed it to 4 October 2020. However, during the examination, the UPSC and the students participating in this examination must strictly follow the guidelines of the Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of Health, Government of India.

Read the guidelines for UPSC Prelims Exam-
1- It is mandatory for the candidates taking UPSC Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination to wear a mask or face cover. The Commission has said that examinees can also bring sanitizers in transparent bottles. No candidate will be allowed to enter the examination center without a mask. Take the admit card with you. Without this, admission will not be granted.

2- The candidates have to follow the rules of Kovid-19. They also have to follow social distance in campuses with examination halls / rooms. Each center will seat one-third of its candidates.

3- Examination will be conducted in two shifts from 9:30 am to 11:30 am and 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm. Entry will be given at the examination center only 10 minutes before the commencement of the exam (09:20 am in the morning shift and 02:20 pm in the afternoon shift).

4- To appear in each session of the examination, the candidates have to bring their photo ID card, whose number is given on the e-admit card.

5- Candidates must carry a black ball point pan with them to fill OMR sheet and attendance sheet.
