The Japanese government on Tuesday dismissed concerns that the US had warned its citizens that it would affect Olympians with the idea of participating in the upcoming Tokyo Games. US officials have cited rising coronavirus cases in Japan as a type of virus. The US says there is a risk for people who have been vaccinated with the virus.
The US has not banned its citizens from traveling to Japan, but this warning could affect insurance rates, while players and other participants consider participating in sports starting July 23. The decision may have an impact. Most of Japan’s major cities are facing a state of emergency, and this is the same as of mid-June as Covid-19 cases are on the rise.
American players can withdraw names from the Tokyo Olympics, learn the reason
If hospitals were similarly stressed and only a few people in the country were vaccinated, it raised fears about the presence of thousands of competitors coming to the Olympics in Japan. Japan’s chief cabinet secretary Katsunobu Keto told a regular press conference on Tuesday that the necessary warning was not banned in the US, and Japan believes there will be no change in US support for Tokyo’s efforts to hold the Olympics.
“We believe that there is no change in the position of America in support of the Japanese government’s commitment to the organization of the Games,” he said. Keto said Washington told Tokyo that the travel warning was not associated with the representation of the US Olympic team.
