Angie Hector has now failed a COP test, with the company getting 14,000 vehicles back

Morris Garages (MG Motors) recently debuted its first SUV in the Indian market. As soon as it hit the market, this SUV performed well in its segment and people took it. But now MG Motor India has recalled 14,000 units of Hector.

About 14,000 units of the BG6 Hector have been recalled with a dual-clutch gearbox (DCT), MG Motor India said. Some specimens at the International Center for Automotive Technology (ICAT) in Manesar, Haryana, have been found to have failed the COP test. CoP tests revealed some defects in hydrocarbon and NOx emissions.

In fact, ICAT says there is a problem with the software, which can be corrected by re-flashing and updating the software. This solution has only been reviewed by the International Center for Automotive Technology. Now, MG is awaiting formal approval for resolution by ICAT and after that, the company will begin the process of notifying customers. After that the company’s dealers contact the customers.

The software flashing process for all Hector vehicles expected by MG Motor India will be completed by next December 2021, if all goes well (Corona situation). Let us tell you that the company has so far sold over 60,000 hectares. Recently, the company released its facelift model, which includes changes with some major updates.
