In the party’s parliamentary party meeting held on Sunday, the LJP leaders have decided not to contest the Bihar Assembly elections 2020 under Nitish Kumar. This is not a sudden decision but its script was being written long back.
It was only after LJP became national president that Chirag Paswan made it clear that the way the party is going, it will not work anymore. This will change according to the time and needs. Its strategy was formed and the LJP leaders started speaking slowly against the plans and policies of the Bihar government. In addition, Chirag had ordered the party to prepare for contesting 143 seats. After this, discussion started in political circles that Chirag could take a big decision later.
Standing apart on several occasions
On many occasions it was seen that LJP’s stand was completely different from Nitish Kumar and his party JDU’s stand. A recent incident occurred when LJP strongly opposed to the elections in Corona and flood-hit Bihar. Chirag Paswan even said in a letter to the Election Commission that holding elections now is like deliberately pushing the common people to death. At the same time, Nitish Kumar’s party was in favor of holding elections in Bihar on time. The BJP did not make any statement on this issue. The party left it to the discretion of the Election Commission.
Nitish is besieged many times
Chirag Paswan made a big statement a few months ago about Nitish Kumar. He had said that if we ask for the time to meet the Chief Minister of Bihar, we do not get it. Nobody listens. Apart from this, he surrounded Nitish Kumar on the issue of return of workers at the time of flood, corona, crime, unemployment and corona lockdown in Bihar. But every time he refrained from speaking anything against the BJP. Only Chief Minister and JDU used to target him.
When reporters questioned him on this matter, he said that I have no personal enmity with Nitish Kumar. If he is the Chief Minister of Bihar, then the problems of the state will have to be raised in front of him. I am a conscious Bihari leader raising these issues in the state. There is nothing political in this.
Allegations of corruption in state government schemes
Recently, LJP leaders had questioned Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s ambitious plan Seven Determinants. LJP state spokesperson Shravan Agrawal had termed the Bihar government’s seven-decision plan as a failure. LJP said that Seven does not believe in LJP. Shravan Aggarwal said that corruption has occurred in the seven-part Part One and we will not accept Part-2 either. Please tell that CM Nitish Kumar has announced the commencement of the Seven Determinants Part-2 on his return to power. The LJP spokesperson said that the common agenda of the NDA will only work in Bihar.
Seven is Nitish Kumar’s ambitious plan and he spends it everywhere. The government claims that good work has been done in the villages of Bihar through this scheme. The ruling party is also presenting it as its success during the election season.

LJP President Chirag Paswan took out Bihar First-Bihari First Yatra. Through this, he went all over the state. Took his party’s thinking to the people. During this time he investigated his party’s ground reality and planned to contest 143 seats, working on the feedback received since the conclusion of the yatra.

They had several rounds of talks about seat sharing. However, no decision could be taken as the party was demanding 143 seats. Nitish Kumar had clearly said that it is the BJP’s work to solve the problems of LJP. On the day of Bihar election announcement, Nitish Kumar said that if LJP and BJP were together in 2015, it is their responsibility. JDU has nothing to do with this.
