CM Shivraj caught in VVIP lift of high-tech annex building, two engineers suspended

Officers and engineers of the State Ministry’s Annex Building-2 were shaking hands on Wednesday evening. When the Annex Building-2 VVIP high-tech lift was damaged and, incidentally, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan was caught in the same lift for 3 to 4 minutes. In fact, as soon as CM went inside the lift to get home from the ministry, she stopped. Following this, Capital Project Administration (CPA) SDO Power Shailendra Parmar and sub-engineer Manoj Yadav were suspended late on Wednesday.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, during his last tenure, decided to make ultra modern annexes at Bhopal’s Mantralaya Bhavan. The Ministry of Chief Ministers, set up in a five-storey annex built for Rs 615 crore, will probably not be in the whole country. The CM and Chief Secretary have a separate lift in the new building.

Bulletproof glass is fitted in the CM sitting room. It is said that 16 high-tech lifts have been installed in Annexes 1 and 2 of the Ministry of State. The elevator where the technical error occurred is only used by the CM and is built with the most advanced technology. Alternatively there is another lift. It has been used by the chief minister for the past two days.

However, work on the damaged lift has not been improved till yesterday evening. Now the General Administration Department has regarded this as a serious negligence of CPA engineers. GAD on Wednesday sent a note sheet to the Department of Urban Development and Housing. Based on this, two engineers assigned to the Ministry’s electrical system and maintenance have been suspended.
