From electric cars to cheap micro SUVs, these new Tata vehicles are making their way to the market

Tata Motors, the country’s largest automaker, is looking to strengthen its vehicle portfolio in the domestic market. Recently, the company took the wraps off its new electric sedan Tigor EV, whose booking has also begun. In addition, Tata Motors will be launching its cheap and Micro SUV HBX (Codename). Tata Tigor EV:

This is the second electric car offered by the company after the Nexon EV. Tigor Electric has been available to government offices and fleet operators so far, but the car has now been introduced to private customers. This new electric car is based on the Tigors petrol facelift that the company introduced just last year.

The biggest update for the new Tigor EV can be found on the powertrain front, which is now equipped with the company’s Ziptron EV powertrain. This technology was first used at Nexon Electric. Its electric motor produces 75 hp of power and 170 Nm of peak torque. The company claims that the car can accelerate from 0 to 60 km / h in just 5.7 seconds.

The company used a 26kWh capacity lithium-ion battery in this car. Battery pack and electric motor IP67 rating is also given. With the new Ziptron technology, the Tigor EV now comes with fast charging. With a fast charger, the Tigor EV can charge 0 to 80 percent in just 60 minutes. Tata Motors comes with an 8 year / 1,60,000 km warranty with this car’s battery and motor.

Tata HBX

Tata HBX:

This SUV was recently identified during the test. The company introduced the concept version of this SUV at the last Auto Expo. Features such as mounted controls, a floating touchscreen infotainment system, and a three-spoke steering wheel with smartphone connectivity. The dashboard is decorated with silver accents with a black finish.

The company has designed this SUV on its new Impact 2.0 design philosophy. According to reports, the 1.2-liter petrol engine could be offered in it, producing 83bhp of power and 114Nm of torque. This engine is added to the 5 speed manual transmission gearbox. The company can release it to the market through an automatic gearbox.

However, the company has not yet shared any information about the name of this Micro SUV. But in media reports, it is named Hornbill. However, it is difficult to say anything about its price before launch, but the company may be priced between Rs 4 lakh to Rs 5 lakh.
