Amid the shortage of Kovid-19 vaccines, the Odisha government has given priority to beneficiaries waiting to take their second dose and asked the district authorities to schedule sessions accordingly.
If the vaccine is available after the second dose is administered to beneficiaries, it should be used for the first dose of left-wing frontline workers and health workers, the state government said.
The Covid-19 vaccination continues Monday to Saturday during a statewide lockdown from May 5 to 1. On Sundays, the centers will be closed for sanitation.
Eligible individuals, including health workers, frontline workers and individuals over the age of 18, will be allowed to travel to the vaccine centers in their own vehicles, taxis and autorickshaws during the lockdown.
According to the Union Health Ministry, there are currently 62,979 active Kovid-19 cases in Odisha. A total of 3,97,575 deaths and 2,068 deaths have been reported so far.

How to Register through CoWIN portal in Odisha for 18 Years and above
- Visit the Covin website and click Register / Sign in yourself.
- Add your mobile number and click Get OTP. After receiving the OTP, type the digits on the site, and click Check Numbers.
- To enter all your details, including photo ID proof, name, sex, and year of birth on the registration page for the vaccine. Once this is done, press the register.
- After you register, you get the option of scheduling an appointment. Click the Schedule number next to the registered person’s name.
- Add your zip code and click Search. The centers in the added zip code are visible.
- Select the date and time and click on ‘Identify’.

Kovid-19 Vaccination Center: WhatsApp now has a new feature that makes it easy to find vaccination centers in your area.
All Indian adult citizens over the age of 18 are now eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine and can register and reserve recruitment slots at the central Covin portal introduced by the government.
If you would like to check the list of vaccination centers nearby, you can do so using the newly introduced feature in the Covin portal and WhatsApp chatbox.
After visiting the home page of Covin’s website, you can access the nearest Vaccination Centers feature and type your zip code, which shows you a list of all registered vaccination centers in the area.
