JEE Advanced Result 2020 : No Delhi students in top 10 rank holders

The results of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advance for admission to the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) across the country were released on Monday. Three candidates are from NCR in the top 10 list in the JEE Advanced All India Rankings. The third place was Vaibhav Raj Ghaziabad, Keshav Aggarwal Gurugram, who got the fifth place and Harshavardhan Agarwal of Sonepat in the ninth place.

No Delhi students in top 10
This time Delhi students lagged behind the NCR students in the result of JEE Advanced. This time no student from Delhi could make it to the top 10 list. This has happened when, out of the total 24 candidates who achieved 100 percentile across the country, four were from Delhi as a result of JEE Mains. Although one of these four candidates, Chirag Falor, has secured first place in JEE Advanced, Chiran is originally from Pune. He took the Mains exam from Delhi.

IIT Delhi Zone in second place
The IIT Delhi Zone, which comprises of candidates from Delhi, Punjab, Himachal, Haryana, Rajasthan, Jammu and Kashmir, has secured the second position in the ranking of the top 500 candidates at the zone level. The top 100 rankings include 24 candidates from IIT Bombay Zone, while 22 students from IIT Delhi Zone managed to make it. Similarly, 429 students from IIT Madras Zone made it to the top 500 rankings, while 341 candidates from IIT Delhi were able to secure their place. 46 candidates in the top 200, 71 in the top 300, 92 in the top 400 and 110 in the top 500 are from Delhi Zone. At the same time, 314 candidates from third place are from IIT Bombay.

More than 43 thousand contenders for 11 thousand seats
This time 1,60,838 candidates had registered for JEE Advanced. In both the papers, 1,50,838 candidates have appeared, out of which 1,17,987 were male and 32,851 female candidates. A total of 43,204 candidates have passed the examination, including 36,497 male and 6,707 female candidates. Of the total candidates to pass, 436 are from the Divyang category. However, admission will be done on the basis of ranking in proportion to the number of seats. There are more than 11 thousand seats in all IITs.

Chirag Falor and Kanishka Mittal topper
In the JEE Advanced exam, Chirag Falor from the IIT Bombay zone from the male section topped the score with 352 out of 396. Gangula Bhuvan Reddy of Vijayawada finished second and Vaibhav Raj finished third. At the same time, Kanishka Mittal from IIT Roorkee zone topped the women’s category by securing 315 marks. He scored 315 out of 396.
