Maharashtra’s face lost in Bollywood! Behind the scenes of director Nishikant Kamat’s time

Nishikant Kamat, the Marathi director of Bollywood films like ‘Mumbai Meri Jaan’, ‘Drishyam’, ‘Force’ and ‘Madari’ has passed away. He is being treated at a private hospital in Hyderabad. He was 50 years old. Nishikant had been suffering from liver disease for the past few days and was admitted to the hospital as his condition worsened.

Nishikant Kamat has made his mark in Bollywood with many Hindi films like Drishyam, Madari, Mumbai Meri Jaan. Earlier, after directing the film Dombivali Fast, the name Nishikant Kamat became known all over Maharashtra. Dombivli Fast won the National Award. In addition, Nishikant Kamat played the role of a villain in John Abraham’s Rocky Handsome.

Rumors of Nishikant’s demise had gone viral on social media since Monday morning. However, the hospital clarified that he was on a ventilator at that time. He breathed his last at around 4.30 pm. Nishikant Kamat was admitted to the hospital on July 31. He had been suffering from Liver Cirrhosis for the last two years. He breathed his last at around 4.30 pm today, the hospital said.
