You do not need to give a driving test on the RTO to get a driving license anytime soon. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has issued a notification of the new rule. Under this, applicants who have successfully trained at accredited driving centers do not have to take the driving license test again when they get the DL, which is exempt from them. However, after completing training at the center you will need to pass the exam, which will be recorded electronically for audit.
The rules will apply from July 1
The Ministry has stipulated mandatory rules for accredited driving training centers. These regulations are effective July 1, 2021. Candidates who enter these centers will be given adequate training and information. Candidates who have successfully cleared the test at these centers do not need to take a driving test for a driving license at the Regional Transportation Office (RTO).

Must be renewed after 5 years
In a statement, the ministry said it would help drivers obtain a driving license after they have been trained in driving from such accredited driving centers. According to the notification, the accreditation offered by accredited centers will remain in effect for five years and may be renewed. Light Motor Vehicle Driver Course duration is maximum of 29 hours in four weeks.
The course will be divided into two sections: theory and practice. The course duration for moderate and heavy motorists is 38 hours in six weeks. During this time, drivers are taught important things about good behavior and discipline with other drivers on the road.
